Hey whats up guys. I've been looking a lot at that megasquirt system. A lot of people are saying its very good and a lot cheaper then any other stand alone ECU. Does anyone have any experience with this for an rx-7? a write up or anythin? I have a 87 non turbo rx-7 converted to a turbo rx-7 thats in need of a ECU very badly. right now it has a non turbo ecu on it with a 60-1 which dont work to well at all.. it has a 4psi spring in the wastegate and my old mechanic had it tuned with a afc OK for 4psi. Well anyways.. I was just curious if anyone has any experience with this system. Thanks a lot guys.

ColinRX7 on here built his a couple years ago, and I think there are a couple others here. If you have specific questions go ahead and post them here.

There is a simple relationship between cost and the time you put in. If you are willing to put the effort in then MS is a great solution for the rotary. A huge SW development effort has been put in recently such that it covers most of the triggering and ignition options for any rotary.

If you want to plug in and drive to the tuners, then it isn't for you.

I love the megasquirt system. I ran a few different (entirely different) intake setups on an N/A engine. I have been nothing but impressed with how versatile it is.

renns gave me alot of help getting started, and I really thank him for that.

It's all open source and people are making code for improvements and more versatility by the day. You just flash the box with the new code and bam, play with your new settings. It's really alot of fun.

Personally I want to have tuning and control of my car entirely, I don't want to have to take the car to someone if I want to change settings or have a new mod that has to be supported and updated, you know what I mean? The megasquirt is very versatile and you tune it yourself. It's plenty of fun. Although renns did come to my rescue when I had no laptop and I had a new set of intake manifolds to run the car with.

Check out www.msefi.com, renns is there more often than he is here, but he is here as well. I will help you with whatever I can too, but renns is an absolute guru.

Didn't he build the box and adapter harness and install it already tuned ?I'd agree that was alot of help getting started.
