Question

Okay I've been scratching my head about this for some time now, I've just finally had enough strength to ask since I have absolutely no clue.

How do you wire the power/fuel relays? Am I supposed to cut some of the wires from the harness (I have a flying lead harness) and run them to the relay(s) and then to a power source, etc?

What is a good ignition switched source? Can I just tie into my ignition coils' power source?

TIA!

The diagram doesn't really explain what I physically need to do. It almost appears that the wires are connected within the loom.

I even read BDC's installation notes...it just still doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Call me stupid .

well the fuel pump relay is simple, one end goes to power and the other goes to the + side of the pump. the relay switches this wire so it doesnt matter which end goes where.

the main power relay needs to get power from a switched source, it supllies power to the ignition and the fuel injectors, so you need something with fairly large amperage. the best place i can think of off the top is the black/white wire, it supplies power to all the emissions solenoids and has enough switched juice to work. i'm not sure where the best place to find it is

Look at the wiring diagram in the back of the manual.

THICK red to BATTERY

THIN gray to ignition switched +12VDC

ALL black wires to ground

ONE orange wire to BATTERY

OTHER orange wire to FUEL PUMP

Hmmmm, the thick black/white wire eh? I guess I need to identify which wire should run to the battery from within the stock FB wiring (the stuff in the engine bay at least).

This is starting to make some sense now, thanks you guys.
