OK, I am teaching myself so please help me understand.

I am looking at a buddies maps on the PMC and these maps go against my common sense. Ok goes like this..

throttle

Light load 2200 rpm -8%\4000rpm 0%\6000rpm0%

med load 2200rpm +2%\4000rpm 0%\6000rpm -2%

high load 2200rpm +2%\4000rpm -2%\6000rpm -8%\7800rpm -6%

Now the timing was not adjusted at all.

WOT 2200rpm 0%\4000rpm 0%\ 6000rpm -2%\ 7800rpm -4%

That one seems to make sense.

But the part throttle maps seems strange. My thought is that the fuel curve should be less jumpy.

Problem is that his car is acting as thought it is in limp mode.

It is not. I have made sure that it is not in limp mode. It seems to be hitting a fuel cut. Mods are

/intake/m2 large IC/DP/CB/Air pump removed/ non sequential.

Just trying to get my homies car running right. Please some one confirm suspisions. I mam going to go ahead and make the adjustments.

have you checked the codes? some dont turn on the check engine light, there are even a couple limp home ones.

hmm, it is a little bit of a wierd looking map, i can see the stock car runing rich at light load, so the - there i understand. you can also see that they are pulling fuel out at high boost, i dunno this may be ok or not, it depends on the psi.

Well, the car ran well with out the purple box hooked up.

It would booost 10psi and hold.

Hook up the box and boom, it would get what I describe almost as a fuel cut and would not produce any boost.

My first thought was move the knock sensor. Did that wih no change.

Then his battery was low so I thought that was kicking it into limp mode.

Replaced the battery, no dice.

So then I made sure that the wastegate controll was not set at "vent learn" did that and actually tried both ways with no change.

Then I looked at the maps to see if something caught my eye.

LIke I said the maps I posted seemed straneg since they jumped so much.

I mean at 2200 rpm in LL it has -8% fuel but in ML its +2% fuel? Why so dramatic a change?

In any case. I am not sure why the car would not work with the purple. My car doesn't have any problem like that. He decided to take my original advice and sell the purple box and get a PFC instead.

But I would still like that map explained to me if possible Mike.

At the risk of sounding totally retarded I am gonna ask. What is a PMC? What are you referring to when you say light load, medium load and so on??? Last but not least what is the Purple Box you refer to in the last post??

To many adjectives not enough nouns for me to decipher what is really going on in this situation.

hmm well ok if it works fine with no pms, i would just zero the map out, make all the corrections 0, and see if that fixes it
