But then you have to keep the AFM.

FYI, I did just that though. I tuned the secondary map, and then went back and tuned the primaries afterwards.
doh! forgot about the afm

Sounds great. Did you wire this into your car's harness and then disconnect secondary injectors into the megasquirt. Did you wire it all up? Im a little intimitated by the whole thing dont want to destory anything hahaha.
my 20b harness used about 1/2 of the factory engine harness, i ended up with something that acts like a stock 3 rotor harness for an s4 fc, even plugs in under the dash.

sometimes its just easier to replace the whole thing, or on the yellow fc it uses the factory harness with a plug in adaptor

I made a seperate harness for the MS, and its completely independent of the stock EMS harness, with the exception of the fuel pump relay lead. I just tapped into that wire so either the stock ecu or MS could turn on the fuel pump.

I couldnt afford downtime on my car when I put the MS in, so the 2 ecu's are completely seperate. I could plug the injectors back into the stock ecu and reconnect the sensors I have disconnected, and it would run on the stock ecu alone.

The wiring is very straight forward, but rather tedious. It took me 2-3 days at a few hours a day to wire up the MS.

Roger Enns modified the code to allow for no TPS, which would work great in this situation. It uses only the MAP for load sensing. Colin should have this S record, I dont right now.
I was talking with Roger and it's still in the works, he said when he finalizes it, it will be publically available as with his other and everyone elses MegaSquirt programming, it's all open source and nobody is holding out.

I run GSL-SE 13B Complete ignition for my RX7, the MS wiring harness is (as adam mentioned) totally seperate from anything else on the motor.

Essentially for the ignition side of the GSL-SE ignition, you need a 12v switched ignition wire, and the rest of the components handle themselves

As for the MS, all you need is the switched 12v too, but I spliced into the stock (fuel pump side) of the OEM harness, so the megasquirt triggers the fuel pump with a different relay, but that section of harness is power for the MS. I believe it is fused under EGI this way? I can't remember which.

I am running mine with no TPS as of right now, the problem there is poor response if you open or shut the throttle quickly. The MS keeps up decently considering there is no TPS signal, it's not undriveable, it's hardly noticeable unless you go WOT instantly it will bog for a second. Consequently if you have throttle diapraghms removed it will dump too much fuel in when you snap the throttle shut. This is temporary for me until I can find a mate for the plug on my FD3S TPS. But with Roger's code I may ditch it entirely. As Adam mentioned it uses the MAP sensor change to determine throttle position essentially.

for the fd tps plug, so junkyard hunting and look at toyotas, and 90-93? protege automatics

you can run with no tps, but the map has to be rich to work around not having the throttle pump

Roger has been driving around his stock port 6 port motor in his SA RX7 under the megasquirt controller with no TPS input for a while..

I was with him driving it a few times too, it's not such a big deal without it surprisingly.

I haven't had time to scour the junkyards for a harness plug, but I intend to. I had the leads/wires set and ready to accept a TPS but I just have to find time to get one.
