Well, I've got an 88 T2 and I went with the Haltech E6X. It was pretty easy to get up and running, but as with most things, the devil is in the details. I used a base map from the Hitman's site, and made some adjustments. The car is very driveable, but still needs plenty of fine tuning. It's a bit rich at WOT (like 10.0) and richer than necessary at cruise (12-ish). I wanted to be sure I didn't blow up the motor learning how to tune the Haltech, and so far, I've been successful in that sense!

If you choose to tune it yourself, you MUST get a wideband O2 sensor. Otherwise you'll be working blind. I have found the Innovate unit to be very competent.

I suppose the Haltech isn't exactly cheap, but there are others that cost lots more. Microtech is a bit cheaper, but I couldn't find many people that would say nice things about them. Megasquirt sounds promising, but would require a bit more effort.

You can do a search on megasquirt on this forum and see what pops up. Surely some interesting reading. But you'll find the answers to all your megasquirt questions at www.msefi.com

You got the stage 2, so yuo can tune right? What palm device do you use? Just some personal info about your setup and how it works would be good, just need some input

yes i have stage2 so i have he ability to tune. my current setup is an hks air filter,2.5in DP w/strait exaust, 750cc secondaries, 255 walbro fuel pump, near monster port with manifolds to match ported and modded TB .and ported wastegate running about 10lbs of boost. right now im running the stock fuel and timing maps while i break in the engine and wait for my turbo upgrade. i am using a palm m515 to view everything the software is awsome allows you to know everything going on in the engine. it makes setting tps easy, also includes a built in fuel cut defender and clear flood mood if you go to their website it can tell you alot more then i can. in my opinion as a being new to this tuning world also, the rtek has made learning the basics of tuning an easy experience. if you have any more questions plz feel free ask

Thanks
