E6k Fimware Update Problems

tried to update to 7.17 and got some error messages,now all i get is the message ECU COMMUNICATIONS ERROR when trying to run fu2.is there any hope of fixing this myself of will i have to send it back to australia

I think you can open the ECU and bridged jumpers (Bootstrap). I have read this somewhere, i think it was in the haltech support archives. Do a search in the yahoo groups. You wanted to upgrade for dual mapping? If this doesn't work then you have to sent it out to haltech.

i tried bootstrap,yes, you open the unit and bridge four posts together,but that didn't work either.also got a new fu2 program and 8v14 software from haltech and nothing works.

yes,tried both 1 and 2 with the program as well as the bios in my laptop.already had the car running with the e6k without problems before i tried to update
