I've been looking at the Cobb Access Port, and I have a question. Can I make my own maps or do I have to use the pre-programmed ones only?

Thanks for your replies,

Raul

20+days and the crickets are still chirping....??? lol

How about other products?? I'm looking for flexibility.

I am friends with a couple of professional tuners, so getting dyno time to dial the mods in

perfectly and the ability to make changes while on the dyno is very important.

Thanks,

Raul

The AccessPORT can be user-programmed with the free version of the Cobb AccessTUNER RACE software.

That said, it is not for the faint of heart. The AccessPORT has defeated many a professional tuner and there are only a handful of people in the country that can calibrate for the RX-8 (especially for an FI application)

I was just reading about that today (12-14-09) actually.

The Tuner I use is familiar with most tuning software/hardware combos (including Megasquirt, Diablosport, Haltech, and EFILive to name a few) as well as all forms of power adders.

I like the idea of included maps, and I am appreciable of the time and effort that goes into making them. It gives a great starting point and, most times, doesn't need tweaking.

On the other hand, I like the idea of not needing to wait on someone else (who might be out enjoying his weekend or something).
