I was talking on the 196. I figured there were some porting changes to get 242. Still good to konw.

That must have been one tuff porting job to pull off. I'd like to see the exhaust runners worked personally.

no offense to eight and rotary owners.. wishin this wasnt the case

but this is sad... specially with all those mods..
I know this thread had it's last response almost a month ago and I'm responding to a post from 2 months ago but it just has to be said. What's so sad about this? Show me another nonturbo 2 rotor this streetable that makes this much power. I'll wait. go look at the 6 port dyno charts here. We've got guys building 13B's, porting them, standalone ecu's, exhausts, etc and they are only approaching this number and this motor hasn't been opened up or even tuned as good as it could be. I'm failing to see the issue here. The Renesis by far makes more power than any other rotary at it's civility level. It takes a bridgeport or a peripheral port 13B to walk all over this number. The best streetported 13B's are only at the same level. Maybe with a few a little bit higher but those are built motors that have had everything done to them. Have you ever seen the exhaust ports in a Renesis? They are terrible. It's a wonder that engine makes any power at all yet alone more than a streetported and properly tuned 13B. bolt-on's don't do much on the Renesis like they do on the 13B. They are hard to get more out of. The only rotaries I see anywhere that have more power than this nonturbo from the factory are turbocharged. This is a nice number. Who cares about the 6 or any other car? What kind of dumb comparison is that. The Renesis also makes less power than the Queen Mary II or an F-18. I'm happy to see a rotary do this without any port work. The rotary community wanted more power for years and when Mazda finally gives it to them, people still complain. That is what's sad.

I dynoed my modified RX8 in Kirkland at Carb Conn.

Results:

200.8 RWHP / 148.6 FT-LBS (SAE Corrected to 196.77 / 142.75)

Site Conditions:

Dynojet 1-21-06. 63 Degrees, 47% Humidity, Altitude 250 feet.

Mods to my car:

Racing BEat REVi Intake, Ultra Plug Wires, Lineage Grounded, Unorthodox Racing Pulleys with 11% Underdrive, Mazdaspeed Lightened Flywheel, Rotary Performance Supercat Midpipe, Racing Beat REV8 Dual Catback Exhaust, Blue E-Manage with Slight Fuel Mods Only.

I plan on adding the Axial Flow Engineering Supercharger to the car next year after the engine management is all worked out with Richard Paul.

Is this a 4 or 6 port engine?

I'm hoping for 200hp at the prop (aircraft) with a 4 port and aftermarket ecu.
