ok so i've never been to a strip, but i was wondering when you guys go to the strip..? i mean the closest strip i live to is BIR but i looked at their website and schedule and all they list are major events for pro bike and car racing. they don't have "Fast IMPORT night!" or some hott boy crap like that. (but i wouldn't mind if they did,,,) But are there like open track days for the public? or do the majority of you just do bracket racing? i mean wtf i just wanna go and line up with whoever and just have some damn fun. i would like to compete when my car and skills are more closely tuned, but what the hell is the deal with this?

at gld they have this event called 'real street drags', it's basically street racing at the strip. The clocks are off so nobody knows what you ran they just indicate who won. They still give timeslips too so you know what you ran, and you hook up real good since it's the strip (all that rubber and VHT on the ground). Alot of money races go down at rsd, it's become quite popular, you can even chose if you want to run pro tree or have a flagger, you can spot out car lengths and give someone the hit, it's just like racing on the street. I imagine other drag strips have similar events, it makes sense, no worry about cops this way.

Around Houma the track is Test & Tune every Wed. night. call the track and ask or how much for group rates.

ah! revvin found a place closer! rock falls raceway.. and it looks that it has many open races and what not... it also has money events... SWEET! so, do the majority of you guys who go, go to just whip some *** or do you actually compete in the points races?
