What does a stock RX7 with a 13B TII run for horse and 0-60 time if anyone has info on it, also what would be the best, buying a 1993 TII and dropping about 4 grand or so in it or buying a R1?

Are you talking aboutthe 93 twin turbo or are you talking about the 89-91 turbo 2? There is a difference so please specify.

The 1993 Twin Turbo
I believe brand new in 93 they came with 250 hp to the flywheel on the manual trans car and 255hp on an auto car. Just some info the TII models was made from 86-91 in the states and is the turbo model ofthe 2nd gen rx7. From 93-95 the car is identified by the particular package it has. Example:
R1= 93 only sport package R2= 94-95 sport package touring= 93-95 luxury package base= 93-95 basic stuff. Hope this helps a little. Let me know if you need more info. |
I have read that stock the 93 R1 ran a 13.7 second quarter mile. I can't remember the trap speed..
sounds about right, with my stock t2 i ran 14.5 ... so a 3rd gen should run in the mid 13's
i say low 13's with stock properly running 3rd gen and excellent driver.
The 86 TII Factory specs were:
0-60MPH: 6.7secs 1/4 Mile: 15.2 Secs |
i thought it was a 13.5 for the fd. anyways mid 13's sound about right https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif
i thought they did make TIIs in 86. they started in 87 or 88
ok im wrong TII in 85
are we talking about a 3rd gen or a 2nd gen??? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif
ok here we go.
79-85 is 1st gen. 86-91 is 2nd gen 93-95 3rd gen the turbo II model was the turbo 2nd gen car. it is also known as the TII. it only had one turbo on it despite the fact of it being called a turbo II. THe third gen is a twin turbo car. unless someone has put in a single turbo. is this helping you any?? the reason i said TII in 85 was bc the fact that the 86s did come in TII and they were released in 85 |
ok i knew the different years and models i didnt know that a tII was made in 85 i thought it was 87 but it does make sense now so yes thankyou for clearing that up.
ok, 1st off, the 93 fd3s rx7 has 255bhp.
they have been known to run as well as an 13.0 and as bad a 14.0..... remember, driver experience and knowledge of the car make up for most of the differences in the time..... i personall ran (when the fd was MOSTLY stock) a 13.30 on street tires....with only intake and catback...... now is a different story.... louis |
The T2 was first sold in America as an '87 model in late '86.
Stock numbers for the '89~'91 T2 varied from source to source as everything always does. 0-60 was usually about 6sec flat and 1/4 mile was close to 15sec flat. |
