Ian,

Friend (maybe not after tonight j/k)

went down to the track.

He has greddy frount mount, remapped ECU, S4 Tubro, fuel pump AVCR, running 9 to 10 psi. 93 rotors, 93 housings, 255/40/17 rear tire

Me: apexi SAFC, AVCR, stock original turbo with 195,000 kms original engine. running 9 psi, 205/55/16 rear tire

here are the results:

http://qlink.queensu.ca/~9jwc/drag3.jpg

http://qlink.queensu.ca/~9jwc/drag4.jpg

at the end of the night we both noticed we could not boost as much as before. I think my top mount was heat soaked. and his front mount was not getting any airflow at the staging lanes...

BTW this was my first time drag racing. WOAH!

I didn't break anything.

First time out, not too bad, seeing the street eliminator I assume you are running a .500 light (there is .500 of a secong between a light down to green) What I suggest you do next time, keep everything the same except one thing, launch your car on the third yellow that will yeild you a better reaction time, and if you look at the first time slip posted you lost by .850. With a little better reaction time, you may have beaten him. With a jump off the line some guys get intimidated so bad they pay less attention to what their car is doing and are more worried about trying to catch up to the car that just jumped half a car length ahead off the line.

those are HORRIBLE TIMES! i ran 15.2 bone stock with my old T2..... if i drove your car i could do low 14's and ian's car has enough power for low to mid 13's..... goddamn... you both need alot of practice sorry lol

The set up are fine but the times need some improvement. But it all takes time.

Cheers! 09-13-2003 06:57 PM

vosko 09-13-2003 07:57 PM

oop nevermind i forgot it was stock!

no wonder it doesn't break less boost than stock https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

i don' tknow why... i started hte first run, i got 9 psi... all runs after gave me 7 psi.

No matter how high i tried to set the apexi boost controller...

Does engine temp/intercooler heat soak affect max boost?

after i drove out of the facility and back onto the highway i could boost ot hearts content...

WATER INJECTION HERE I COME!

vosko 09-13-2003 09:46 PM

you know what is sad! i have bean hitting constant .600 reaction times!

so if i raced you on the track besides all the wheel spin i have going on i would have bean 1to 2 car lengths before you even launched!

but one thing that helped me is going on the 3rd yellow light as stated before, and try sevral dif rpm luanches it helps!

roadkill669 09-22-2003 09:09 AM

I experienced the same thing on my car the first time I brought it to the track. If you still have the Twin scroll actuator connected, the computer, under certain circumstances, will activate it or deactivate it. The first run I got 9 psi, everyone from there was 7 or less. Since I took all my emissions and crap off, it pegs 15 always. I'll be taking it to the track on Thursday with my new ACT 6 puck and fuel system. Stock, I ran a 9.9 1/8 at 7 psi. That was my best so far. I hope to see an 8.5 or something on Thursday.

Also, practice makes perfect. I've been racing for a few years now and I've got it down with the RX. Pulled .5 to .6 all the time. Gonna take a few runs with the new clutch to get used to it https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png
