Did you made it home w/o fukign up anything?

My clutch pedal got soft too after that night. Let me know how much you can get it for both the master and the slave cyl.

ColinRX7 08-01-2005 10:47 AM

Yeah me too

nismo convert 08-01-2005 04:23 PM

so you guys need the plantation kit?

Mazdabation 08-01-2005 09:28 PM

I just got home from long weekend cottage country......Yes i was able to make it back from your place with no ill effects. The pedal didnt even stick on the way. Mind you i didnt have to shift much being on the highway. Ill call my dealer and see what he can do with the RX Club of Ontario discount he gives. Is there no way of seeing if its either the slave or master??

Cheers! 08-02-2005 07:30 AM

I don't know how much Fd parts were... but A S5 TII master was 75 cdn or tax in... the slave was 43 tax in 2 years ago.

The job to change them should be around 1 hour or less if you know your way around the car. THe pissy part is trying to make sure you don't get brake fluid everywhere.

On second thought the FD might be trickier since the clutch hydrualic fluid is shared with the brakes so you will need to becareful you don't introduce air into the brakes.

You'll need your VIN number when you call.

Rebuild Kit for the Master Cyl. For $26

New OEM unit is $121

Release Cyl (No rebuild Kit avail.)

OEM unit $92.24

I usually get 10% off

Just keep in mind that if you end up going with the rebuild Kit, make sure the piston/cyl. have no score marks in it. Otherwise it will leak.

Call Steve @ Scarborough. 20% off (416) 752-0970.

Delivery to the GHA (greater hamilton area) = 1 wobbly pop. Hell, I'll do it for a milkshake at the Stoney Creek Dairy.

Does it look like a big job, please tell me oh wise one!! I guess i better order one quick or im screwed for the meet.

mr.zoom 08-08-2005 01:43 PM

It is a lot of work:

Take out starter (easier access)

Take out Cruise control unit (Master Cyl. underneath it.)

Then make sure you clamp down the hose going to the master cyl.

remove and replace cyls. Don't forget your SS line

Install starter

Bleed the fluid.

If I were you I would order the parts now!

I paid 122 for the release cyl and rebuild kit.

Mazdabation 08-08-2005 03:06 PM

I just ordered the rebuild today, will be in tommorrow. Are you serious, **** you better get your ass over here and help me then, Ahhh i can prob make it there, when should i come? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

mr.zoom 08-09-2005 01:38 PM

well I'm going to try to do it today.

Make sure you have compressed air, snap ring pliers, brake fuild, rags and another person to help you bleed it.

There is a gasket between the master and the firewall. The dealer don't even have a listing for it. Just reuse it.

Also be carefull not to score the piston.

mr.zoom 08-10-2005 06:27 AM

Well, the job it self takes a couple of hours but somehow the release cyl came off the fork and brake fliud all over the tranny housing while I was bleeding it. So I'm not done yet and ordering another cyl. since I think the other one if fucked. I'm just hoping that my clutch is ok....

mr.zoom 08-10-2005 10:43 AM

release cyl is now on back order @#!$#$!#$@$#%#^&*@$

Mazdabation 08-10-2005 01:44 PM

I dont understand why the new one you ordered would be screwed

probably the way I installed it. It gets tricky putting it back in since you have to guess the position of the clutch line (hard line) so it doesn't rest against the trannny when your'e installing the cyl.

Anyway, I put the old one back in and now dirving the car the pedal feel is a lot better than before. So I'll wait till the new one comes in....then store it.

When are you doing yours?

mr.zoom 08-12-2005 06:16 AM

don't forget to bring a bottle of brake fluid.

Be at my place 4pm. Get ready to get dirty! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif

Mazdabation 08-12-2005 02:12 PM

Mazdabation 08-13-2005 06:38 PM

Well the pedal feels great so far rich. Thanx a ton again for all the help on the fix up!!
