yea so anyway, not that i said anything, but my fd was having major issues in low vaccuum situations (aka about 12psi of vac to 0) basically in all rpms it would stutter and stumble. so i hooked up the lm-1 and saw major lean-out. So i added more fuel across the low vac areas, no change if anything it got worse, added more fuel nothing. finally got to the point where it was almost undrivable. So at work I decided that since the fuel pressure was good it must be a fuel volume issue, thats why the more fuel i asked for the worse it would get.

So my walbro has been whiney since I installed it, I've had walbros before and it seemed a lot more whiney then I had remembered. So I figured well if im going to replace the fuel filter anyway (generally the cause of a fuel volume problem when the pump is new) I might as well pull out the walbro, double check everything and check the fuel filter sock.

I pulled the walbro and holy **** that sock was disgusting, filled with crap. Cleaned it out real good put it back on and swapped out the fuel filter at the same time. The fuel filter seemed relatively new and showed no signs of blockage. But now the walbro doesnt whine at all and I have 0 stutter/lean-out problems.

The car runs like a freaking indy car now, and I'm still not even close to boosting it.

So lesson learned, when a car sits for 3-4 years, even if you drop in a new pump with a new filter on it, the crap in the tank can still build up into enough of a problem that it leaves you wondering.

Back to your regular programming.

cleaning the gas tank? meh doesnt really matter until i go anywhere near boost anywho, as I said, im no where near boost, and with the leanout situation i was barely nearing 10psi of vaccuum.

but yea anyway today or tomorrow im dropping the tank and flushing it anywho, no biggie, i only drive it maybe 10 miles a day, if that.

also the fact that the fuel filter showed zero signs of having any grime in it shows that the particles in the tank are simply too large to make it past the fuel pump sock, anything that makes it past the pump would show up in the filter, nothing showing up in the filter means nothing making it past the pump.

but yea anywho, guess i should finish my t2 now.
