I use small gauge flux core solder. Heat the wire you are joining, and apply the solder to the heated wire.

Thats exactly what i do. Except don't forget to thread the heatshrink on the wire before you solder https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif I seem to forget to do this everytime.

Me too. And I've been doing it for over 15 years now. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

Martin, Did you blow your map sensor?? Yeh, Mazda charges 400+ for a new one. I couldn't believe it.

Far as I know, Map sensor wires are thru your driverside fender. Common problem is due to lack of wheel well fender lining. If this is the case, take your fender out and look for any cut wiring. One of the locals here blew 2 Map sensors and finally i traced it to the wire loom inside the fender. It was shredded and touching other wires.

PHIL

Oh, by the way, if its the map sensor issue, the wire is sheilded with copper shielding. I ended up using a fine speaker wire, took the copper wires out and used it to shield the inner wire. I don't know if I make any sense.

i rewired everything... but still couldn't get it to work...

figured out that it could have been grounded to the body somewhre along the wiring harness, so i grounded the harness to the body, and voi la!!!!

thanks for the help everyone
