i just finished hooking up my LM-1, calibrated it and all. Now when I installed the driver software for the usb to serial port adapter and i try to open up the lm-programmer it says please connect the device to a serial port and switch it on...has this happened to anyone else or did I just mess something up? I have the cables hooked up and plugged into a usb port but i cant get the lm-programmer opened at all. I dont know if this is in the right location but i figured since it was for my 3rd gen it would make sence..

Your guy's problem sound software/driver related and not the LM-1.

To the thread started, you have to make sure the serial port (kind of sounds like your problem from the words you used in your post) is on. You can do this through the hardware manager in windows or through the bios. Then make sure you have the most up to date hardware drivers for the USB port adaptor. Doesn't hurt to check to see if the port works by plugging something else (something you know how to use and know works) into it and playing around, with a known good device.

To the first reply, were you able to load the software and connect it to the LM-1? Because if you can't get that far then there is no way you will be able to log anything. Double check to make sure your port connects to other devices and is working correctly (do this through any and all the adaptors you are using to connect the LM-1 up). Then make sure the LM-1 software loaded correctly (or re install it) and try again.

To Both, LM-1's web site has updated software and trouble shooting help. Plus they maybe able to walk you through this better.
