i read about this setup awhile back but did anyone try it?

and how well does that rearend take the hard launches?

jspecracer7 05-11-2003 06:34 PM

It's not the rear end, it's the rear diff. However it will take a little bit more of a beating, but nothing beats a real LSD.

djgiantrobot 05-11-2003 07:49 PM

ask vosko

vosko 05-11-2003 10:26 PM

yeah i have one works great so far...................... you need the TII LSD unit

zooq 05-12-2003 02:26 PM

thanks, i know that i need the LSD unit. but will it take 5000 rpm launches and if the LSD fucks up is it going to explode like the 3rd gen diffs?

vosko 05-12-2003 03:24 PM

it has taken my 8500 RPM launches

the reason the diff explodes is from vibration. you need a diff brace and tranny brace to stop that from happening https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

jspecracer7 05-12-2003 06:46 PM

I also recommend upgraded toe links/trailing arms.

zooq 05-13-2003 01:08 AM

so i'll have to run ET streets instead of drag radials because they have soft sides and that should stop the vibration right?

vosko 05-13-2003 01:16 AM

well i haven't broken anything with my drag radials or M&H's . if you run et streets you might break an axle though

zooq 05-13-2003 10:19 AM

my friend went with chromoly axels so i have his stock axels just incase https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png.

do you ride the clutch off the line or just dump it?

and how much can i get a T2 rearend for?

vosko 05-13-2003 10:39 AM

used anywhere from $200 . new they around $600

i dump the clutch when i launch. the one in my car is brand new.......i actually have another one too. which might be for sale

vosko 05-13-2003 10:40 AM

i also have chromoly axles. i broke the stock axles on nitto drag radials the first time i launched https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

SPEED_NYC 05-13-2003 08:18 PM

i have a TII diff in my FD as well. i have been racing on ET streets every week with 7500 rpm clutch drops and havent had a single problem with it. i have broken an axle, but not the diff. vosko is right though, you need a tranny and diff brace, like me https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

zooq 05-14-2003 12:22 AM

where do you get the trany and diff braces from?

vosko 05-14-2003 01:05 AM

either make them or buy them from japan

lane_change 05-14-2003 01:20 AM

Has anyone made any that they want to sell to me? I am worried about exploding my diff, so the less vibration the better. I am getting upgraded trailing arms and busihings to help a little, but I would love to have a diff brace as well as a tranny brace.

Are they easy to make? What material did you guys use? Any help would be great? Also, do you need any form of bushing, or just a solid metal brace that connects to the diff or tranny? Where do you connect them? Any pics?

Sorry for the million questions...https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

No dampeners...They need to be solid. I will be sending vosko a set I got here in Japan(Diff brace and rear subframe brace). He may take pictures for you guys when he gets them.

jspec is the man https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683827.gif

SPOautos 05-15-2003 12:28 PM

Vosko, how many miles is on your car man

I'll prob swap over to the TII diff in the future when I decide to drag race some more but for some reason right now I'm kinda stuck on road racing.....I guess I just got tired of drag racing at the track (course on the street is a different story haha)

Well I got the diff brace paid for...just waiting for it to be shipped to my house so I can ship it to your house. The rear subframe brace was bought however...no worries though. I've dealt with this guy before. I had Fuji e-mail him and ask for another set to be made and to ship it to me asap...that's what I did last time and it arrived 3 days later. Once I get them, I'll PM ya and then you should have it within 10 days.

rxrotary2_7 05-16-2003 10:12 AM

i have a few diff braces. PM me if interested.... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
