when i listen to my car at idle, i can hear a high pitched whistle that sounds like a kettle sort of. at first i thought it was just the fans, but they weren't on. then i thought it might be that my belts were grinding on something but they were all good. what else should i check?

How's your boost pattern?
|
my boost is perfect. i'm positive that it has nothing to do with the internals. that's why i was looking more at the belts, because that's the only visable moving part.

check all of your pullies for the noise. there could be a bearing going out in one of them, and then it could also be the sir pump, if in fact it is still intact.....
is it consistent and continuous? or is it periodic and goes away after a few minutes? just at idle? |
It could be a vaccum leak. Or just a regular Vaccum. I get a whisle noise from my fuel pump. Sounds strange but hey. It's a rotary. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

I had a similar noise comming from my engine bay. I could only here it with the hood open standing next to the car. Dunno what it was. I'll see if it persists when I get my motor back together.

I don't have an air pump and it did it.
