**** that...I had NONE of that **** and learned the fix for no wheel hop.....

Launch Higher!

-=RX-7 KID=- 04-08-2004 04:59 PM

well i just got new tires and since i put these on the back i havent had any wheel hop. Kumho supra 712's 280 tread wear AA traction A temp ( 245/40/ZR17 ). so far they are the best hooking tire i have had on this thing. They dont handle as good as the S-03 but they hook way better.

And i think the key to not getting wheel hop is sliping the clutch not launching higher. I'm starting to learn how to slip on the launch really well. And i'm doing a new kind of shifting during the run. I no longer lift my foot off the gas for every shift i keep it to the floor my engine bounces off rev limiter for a real short period of time, then i drop the clutch once i'm in the next gear. It makes the car jump forward after every shift. I think some one called it floor shifitng.

slipping the clutch wont solve your problem as your car gets faster etc. still get the suspension parts. if you do it right, theres nothing better than an 8k launch without spinning or hopping.

i've got a question of the sorts though, what can i do to the rear end to handle 700whp reliably?

it's called powershifting. i can't recall why, but i've heard it's something you should not do on a turbo car.

no power shifting is when you shift at full rpm just like that but without using a clutch. You just slam or "power" it into the next gear. And you want to shift like i do on a turbo because it keeps the turbo spooled between shifts. I did it all tonight at the street races and i'v never pulled so hard in second.

diff/tranny brace, TII or aftermarket LSD, upgraded axles.

thats a pretty cheap solution considering the amount of power

lol you are powershifting...

it would be dumb to just shift into second with no clutch...and pointless...

then tell me why F1 drivers dont use a clutch, because it's pointless right.

HA! Their trannys are designed for that! Ours are not...
