what would you offer on the following car.

The interior is NOT in great condition about as bad as the outside. I'm looking to buy it and part it out maybe make some money off of it or take the 13b out of it, rebuild and port it and swap it into my 3rd gen when i get it.

I saw it in person and it looks like the turbos and such are there.

any estimate price range would be nice so i can go there and talk to the guy more.

Well you gotta spare tire their now don't ya. If the engine is in good working condition, Tranny is good then prolly 3-4k. The parts may be their but do they work?

the only price he mentioned was he wanted $4,500...when i saw the car (place was closed) first thing in my mind was "$3,000 and not a penny more" but wasn't sure if it was reasonable.

i may go up their with a digi cam and take pics of the inside, they have all the spare parts in the trunk, so the interior is shot, the seats seem to be shot. If i recall it doesnt have a radio either.

i could sell the wing, and probably all the interior pieces, the hood, the body pieces, the stock turbos, basically strip the entire car, but not sure if i'd ever make my money back. so then i thought about taking out the engine, rebuilding/porting it and selling it for like $2k-$3k.

just trying to see if i could justify buying it or not, god knows it will sit there as no one is even interested in it from what he told me lol.

Think about what happens if you buy it. Where are you going to put it? What are you going to do when their is nothing left but the frame. How did the car get like that? Was it in a flood, crash, or anything else? The guy is asking way too much.

I saw an FD on atuotrader about 3 months ago selling for $7,500 and it had a ported engine and everything else working.

All I can say is don't count your chickens before they hatch. What happens if the engine is bad and needs new rotor housing or rotors. Then the actual rebuild starts costing money and you don't make a profit. I thinkI would only do it for no more then 3k. Just be cautious.

well i dont have the money laying around to go buy it anyway, just trying to get a justifiable offer to stick to.

the car got like that because some dumbass kid spunout and macked a wall or tree...thats why i dont wanna try to rebuild the car, the frame is probably beat.

as for where i could put it i have a nice sized yard, when nothing's left but frame we can throw the frame onto our farm and do something with it lol.

i didn't really consider the whole bad rotor thing, maybe i'll see if the engine works first.

it is a 5 speed so i could sell the trans to someone trying to do a swap , sell it to vosko as backups lol.

i dunno if im even interested really, it all depends on how much i buy my 3rd gen for (i dont know the price at the moment) if i have left over cash i'll offer it to the guy lol... even if it's only $1k.
