I use valvoline racing 20W-50 in the spring summer & fall.

I park it in the winter.

Why would you use 20W50? The higher oil pressures created by the increased viscosity could cause blow-by in the turbo cartridge...

I may get flamed for this but has anyone looked at using a diesel engine oil, quite often they are cheaper than ‘race oil’ but have similar EP additives and detergents (which are not in regular motor oils because they are generally pretty nasty for the environment). A lot of people with four stroke MX bikes use them

I suppose some research into the properties of diesel engine oil (I never knew ther was such a thing) and how they correspond to regular oil for both synthetic and dino is required?

i run Halvoline 20w-50 in mine.

Many rotary tuners say 20w-50 is a better oil since it is thicker, offering longer, better lubrication. Thinnger oil has a chance to separate. I've always ran 20w-50.. and every rotary tuner and builder i've ever talked to said to run 20w-50.

contrary to popular belief, halvoline is one of the best dino oils you can buy.. it has some of the best base stock as far as oil goes. Plus its good and cheap!
