That means that while YOU have NO experience w/ this oil whatsoever,...YOU find it okay to say "Use it because "X" company uses it too"?
And as JT Imports said, he ONLY has experience w/ the mixture oils...the stuff used to put in the gas tank.
Do you see a problem w/ why I asked YOU for a solid answer as to HOW and WHY you thought FEED oil was the best?
"FEED uses it" was the ONLY reason that you could come up with.
"Great company makes great things".
Hell, Michael Jordan wears Hanes underwear...so that stuff must be the best....by your logic. Bill Clinton has been known to eat at McDonald's....so it must be the best fast food burger restaurant.
The next time you make a recommendation,...you better have to facts to back up your claim. Or I will call you on it.

There have been numerous of discussions on which oil to use.
Synthetic or regular dino oil? This has been contested time after time. Some people use synthetic, others stick to regular dino oil.
Regarding the synthetic though,...if you do decide to use it,...people have generally stuck w/ a high quality synthetic. Ones from brands such as Redline, NEO, Royal Purple, and Amsoil.

i use the Castrol Syntec, and has been in the car from day 1, once i drained the factory oil.
I use red line for the tranny and the diff.
Why, is a combination of performance in race engines, and other cars i owned.
i can tell you that my engine w 50k miles on it is strong, and the surfaces have little wear. Turbos are stock and still strong. as for the diff and tranny i have never had them apart but previous experience has shown abuse/too much torque are the reason for failure and not poor lubrication.
All the cars i have owned have used castrol, and all have gone north of 100k miles with NO engine issues(related to lubrication)
I have serveral friends in the refinery business and there are few differences in products, much about marketing, since many use the refinery products as the base. IF you think about it, setting up an oil refinery is not simple or inexpensive, so few have a dedicated resources. Thus most product just have an 'additative' that makes them different.
So i do applaud your desire to get actual feedback.

Thanks for your reply. There are a lot of people who have used Castrol and stick to it. I just called DRFT on it, because I knew he couldn't back up his recommendation as to "why" use FEED oil.
You're right about the additives. That is generally, the only difference.

I will be going back to dino oil. Not sure what brand yet but...
I switched to synthetic a while back and noticed it made the car run great. Felt nice and smooth. 6 months later it started sprouting leaks everywhere and eventually I pulled the motor.
I'd stick with the factory recommendations. 10W-30... Not sure what convinced me to switch..

DomLee--Speed master is widely used here. Scoot RED FD had it ont he side and several other cars did too.
I have OMEGA in my diff and tranny since I didnt like REDLINE, didnt last long. I was going to try WAKOs, but I decided that OMEGA was fine and gave good shifts and long lasting.
As for my engine, Speed master is a nice grade. Not as thick and rough in the motor as REDLINE, but not a cheese as the RE oil I used, so I got recommended trying Speedmaster as a shop a while back and have been using it ever since.
They have a full line for economy all the way to full race.

I used Mobil 1 and Royal Purple until my motor was stripped, and it had absolutely no damage due to lubrication, in fact, when it was stripped, the surfaces were almost perfect, I'll see if I can dig out the pics of it.
I don't particularly believe whether or not Dino vs Synth is a big debate, the older Synths had alot of Ash, and the newer ones dont, so theorectically, the burning of the oil shouldn't be a problem in terms of the oil injection, and the lubrication of the motor itself.
Dino is alot cheaper when you are changing your oil in very short intervals. If you are not careful with how and when you are changing your oil, then I would suggest Synth, as it does bond better with certain metals, and would lower the friction factor.
