I'm replacing my differential this week. What gear oil should I use? I've had amsoil and redline before. Anything else worth trying? I'm not a big fan of the redline in the trans and have mobil 1 in there now. I think Vosko used g-force?

Seams ok, a bit harnder to shift untill the car warms up a bit. I broke 2 synchros while using redline. In my opinion it is too thin. You could use the mt90 or other viscosities they have, but there goes the eaiser shifting and whole reason people use redline mtl. I did read in Sport Compact Car that they used mobil 1 in their project 300zx and it went dark and smelt burnt in a short period of time. I'll probably change the trans fluid while doing the diff or at least check it. Can the mobil 1 be used in the rear?

 

how about the shockproof gear oil that redline has, its supposed to help high hp launches

yeah i have G-force oil in my diff. i don't know what kind of gear oil judge ito put in my tranny LOL whatever it is it works great :bigthumg:

 

I bought the shockproof stuff from Redline...but haven't had a chance to put it in.
