well being in the car business myself... IMO you shouldnt pay a penny over 9k for that car. I myself found a 1994 white touring model in austin texas with 155k, with 15k on a rebuilt motor, and turbos replaced at the same time for $9500.00. but someone bought it before i could get to it. My current car.. i just bought it.. a 93 R-1 103k miles, 3k on motor/turbos, car is in near perfect shape, no accidents, no dents/dings, interior is almost flawless.. and i paid $8000.00 for the car. maybe im just lucky to find em.. but i really think you should keep looking.. im sure that car will be there if you dont find anything else... anyhow... this is my opinion on what you should do... its really up to you in the end... what the car is worth to YOU.. is what you will pay for it

Well im in the car biz also and how do you expect to make money in the car biz if you have to give everything away? Thats the problem with people today they have been so institutionalized by fast food that they think every thing should be fast cheep and there way!!!!!!!!!!!! and because of this people cant run a buisness anymore and expect to make a living at with employies..........You have all these internet places that have no over head and sell stuff over the net that never talk to you cuz its a side thing that are willing to give stuff away cuz its just extra money to them.....Basically what im getting to is a real store front buisness cant make it cuz of this every thing should be cheep mentality that our nation in a hole is suffering..........................

Point taken...I undertstand what you are saying but Car salesmen have given themselves a bad name even before ebay and autotrader. They figue if they are gonna buy a used car that might break down why not pay less. As sad as it sounds nobody is going to pay more for a car just so a company can afford to keep going. It creates a market that dealerships cant compete in. Its their job to find a way to attract customers.

im not saying that the cars go for that much.. i know i got lucky finding some so cheap.. i still know of a few that are lower mileage and cost less than 13k. only problem is they are automatics... but like i said.. IMO the car isnt worth that much.. not with that mileage on it, even if the motor was just rebuilt. maybe the market in tx is different.. cause i know the ones ive seen around here are alot cheaper... but as previously stated... in the end its really up to the buyer... and how much you want the car... i personally would have paid the original asking price of 10k for my R-1... but i was able to talk the guy down to 8k if i was you.. i would look through ebay.. and do a wider search on autotrader.com so you can get a better idea of prices...

I looked the car up on its value on kbb and it said the car with those miles and in good condition its worth $8995.00 So since thats what i go by and 95% of new and used car dealerships go by this(except when it hurts them) Thats what i would pay for that car.............So i stand corrected on this cars value it takes a huge hit for those miles.........
