as my engine gets pulled out, i begin to take other stuff off that isn't need anymore. i have a touring '93. The engine is comming out and i want to drop as much weight as possible so i can still street drive with a RADIO. i took out the bose system in back already and that saved some nice weight. the spare is out ( i dont like yellow and all my cars never even came with one ). the battery is going to be relocated to that little place behind the seat most call 'storage'. the a/c is out ( id have to pay to get it upgraded anyways so i figure i dont need it ). the powersteering is where my question lies. do you need it in an rx7? im probablly going to take it out anyways because i broke the pully when i took it out to get the engine out, i was PISSED. but what else is there to do? anything else that isn't nessicary? thanks.

you don't have to have powersteering... i drove around without you get used to it. if you do alot of city you will want it back though!! if you have strong arms you will be fine. i like the way it handles with manual steering

yeah I tried the no power steering idea. IT SUCKED *****. Taking high speed turns on the highway was great, but slow city driving was horrible. And I'm a big guy, not a little weenie, and it was hard as hell to turn the wheel. I would suggest try driving it for a few days w/o it, if you like it, fine, if not get a new pulley and put the belt back

Okinawa's nothing but city driving...and I drive w/o PS. It's not that hard...just be sure to have big arms and lots of "creative driving" skills.
