I am having a boost issue that started this week and I think it may be related to my wastegate. For the past month I have been running 12-10-12, then this week for some reason I can't build past 7-5-7psi, unless I go to 6-7K RPMS then it slowly builds up to 10-11psi. I have silicon couplers and new silicon lines and double checked all them already. I am using a HKS EVC EZ boost controller, and it doesn't matter if I turn it off or how high up I crank it.

Anyone have any pictures of the stock wastegate? I plan to crawl under there tonight to see if the door is stuck open, but I need something to compare it to for reference. If that's not the problem, then I will try to bypass my boost controller, but I don't think that's causing this.

Any input or pics? Thanks.

The wastegate is internal on the twins. You can't see it.

Possible that it is stuck I would check all the acctuating rods and maybe the wastegate solonoid on the front of the UIM. Make sure that you check the small hose between the Y pipe and the Charge relief valve as well..

Fd3BOOST, thanks for the nice picture. That will help alot. I didn't check the small hose between the Y-pipe and the Charge Relief valve yet. I know it's still a stock hose since I have never replaced it. Do they commonly go bad?

I guess as far as the wastegate goes, I heard that a clip can fall off and cause the door to stay open?? Where on that diagram would I look for that? Thanks.

I don't know if they go bad for everyone, but mine dryrotted and hads a huge hole in it last year that caused me to get a bad boost leak.

So it's worth looking at.

The clip would be a small (1/16") "C" clip on the bottom of the wastegate actuating rod .

Look at the turbos, if there are any rod's dangling then thats your problem. There are only three rods. the Wastegate,Precontrol, and the Turbo Control.
