buy one and give it to me to hold. when you can grab this coin out of my hand, grasshopper, I will hand over the keys back to you. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

keep in mind that although you will be the envy of your entire school, ownership of one of these cars entails more responsibility than your average car. if you've got the dough, thoroughly search for a low mileage, clean, stock car that was owned by a responsible or even better, maintenance-obsessed person. Finding a good example to begin with will save you alot of money. good luck

Here's my advice, remember the EMINEM DR.DRE song.

STOP, don't do it, it's not worth for you to risk it.

Not over this ****, drop the biscuit.

If you get an FD now, you'll get creamed. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

Good Luck.

Get the fd, you will be the envy of the whole school

****, everybody with a car at my school is jealous of my fc cuz they get spanked hard! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif

Don't buy cars to be cool. Buy them because you love them. I'd be losing the game REALLY ******* hard if I bought my car to be the "envy" of my neighborhood...considering it hardly ever leaves the garage...

Just bustin your nuts man. Buy whatever you want... But remember, giving all those girls rides after school is BOUND to lead to a rebuild!!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

I would not buy an rx7 3rd gen this car is way to much for a 17 year old to be able to maintain. Finacially or otherwise.
i bought my fd when i was 17 (last year) and yes, it is a huge financial burden but learning from my experiences, this is the way to do it.

1. be ready to spend mucho dinero, depending on the condition of the car

2. find a good mechanic - where do u live? ask on the forum for someone to recommend the best mechanic in your area.

3. find a good car (as said earlier) - i recommend finding a car w/ a blown engine and then pay for a rebuild, and start from 0 miles. that way you know what you've got. otherwise the previous owner could be sellin u a 7 with an engine that's been overheated (needs a rebuild) then you have $15g into the car instead of $10-12g.

4. familiarize with the rotary engine and rx-7 - this way you'll be able to tell when your car needs maintenance and save screwing something up costly

overall, just become an enthusiast about your car and with some tlc and a good money supply- a job - you can handle it and enjoy it.

btw, about being the envy of the school. that is a huge bonus of owning an fd. everyone in my school loves my car, and they'll be blown away when u take 'em for a spin. also, you'll get twice the ass you ever got before... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif but i'd still take no fd if it saved me a financial crisis......maybe.

more advice here

ill second rxtacy, eventhough i didn't have an fd in highschool, im sure it would be a great thing (honda owners love me for some reason) as well as everyone staring at you nomatter what condition your car is in.

also id start with a NON RUNNING fd, and get a good motor and ecu installed. i made the mistake of buying a "running" fd and two weeks later, i had a rebuild...

if you were going to buy an rsx, id go with a popular colored fd (otherwise people on this board would kill you for having a cym and possibly hurting it), make sure everything is as others have stated about engine condition etc etc. i know someone who bought a silver on red fd for 500 more than i did, and he is STILL on the same engine. NOT FAIR!!!

do more research into it and you'll find a great fd, if you're looking over 20k for it, you'll find a GREAT ONE.

an fd will get you more respect with the guys, and the ladies than an rsx would NO MATTER WHAT...
