No, 92 was the introduction of the Viper.

dats nice...



and teh 3rd gen was introduced in late 91 if im not mistaken....besides who can blame chevy for trying to copy fords best vehicle....

yeah the FD was introduced in late 91 and the final styling was completed in 1989 IIRC. And i seem to recall Ford saying they would have nothing to do with anything rotary related (sry, im a GM nut, lol)

The Viper was released in '92, and began design as far back as '89.



Either way, both are cool looking cars, but I prefer my FD the way it is.

Inncorect.....if you want to get technicle. The 3rd gen 7 design started in 1987 with chief designer Yoichi Sato. In 87 he chose 4 design centers to submit there drawings. 87 through 88 the teams submitted ideas and in aprox 89 the body design was finallized.

The car went on sale in 1992 in Japan and was imported for sale to north america in 1993

there was actually two finallist., but they couldnt decide on one in particular....what they did was incorperated the two designs to create the FD. Winners were MRA (Mazda reasearch of america) in irvine california and MC (Mazda Hiroshima design center).
