Hello. This is my first post on this forum. I'll make no bones about it, I'm here looking for help. My car is 100% stock aside from the catback exhaust.

I was having issues on top end... car was losing power. It also had a wierd problem where if i got on the gas at high RPM it wouldn't boost, but if I rolled into the throttle at low RPM, it would boost good and hard. I was informed that the vacuum reduction mod could take care of these issues that arise on a car that is 12 years old and has 100K miles on it.

So, I followed the directions. I replaced the lines, removed the un-needed solenoids. I will say that I do NOT have resistors in the empty plugs where they were once plugged into the solenoids. None the less, I do not have a CE light on, and can't see how this would cause the issue I'm having. I replaced the lines for the wastegate and precontrol, and did not keep the "pills" that were in the lines. From what I've read, this should reduce my boost to 7psi. I tested all the solenoids I kept, and swapped them around thinking maybe they were bad, but my problem persisted.

The Problem: In any gear, if I floor the car from a lower RPM (<4500) the car will not boost over 1psi. Once the car hits 4500 psi, the boost comes on to about 7-8psi and falls down to about 3-4psi by the time redline is reached. When I shift to the next gear I get NO boost. I have to slow the car back down to a reasonable RPM, and roll into it as I did before to get boost in the gear.

Starting Point: The charge control valve should be closed at idle. As I understand it, this allows the first turbo to spool. Once 4,500 rpm is reached, this valve opens, allowing boost from both turbos. The problem I have obviously, is that since this charge control valve is open all the time at the low RPMs, I get no boost down in the low RPMs. Just as a test, I "hotwired" a vacuum line straight to this control valve and verified that I could get boost at low RPM. Of course at the higher RPMs, boost fell back off to nearly nothing.

From the analysis on this pic, you can imagine my dismay to find that the charge control valve CLOSES when I shut off the car, but when i turn it on it opens. It's causing my hair to turn grey.

So, I'm looking for some help with this. I've verified my vacuum lines at least 30 times. I've checked the solenoids with a mity-vac and a 12 volt source.

Any help would be appreciated. This problem has been killing me for the past 6 weeks.

Thanks,

Kyle

Have you tried switching the plugs to solenoids F and H? Because that's the mistake in the diagram.
