Oh, I'm repositioning the ic a little higher so the bumper had to come off for that not really the radiator.

It's possible that this why mazda put 5/7 instead of 5/4. Even still, the newer FD's had the fans redesigned to help alleviate the older fans not pulling enough CFM thru the radiator.

just out of curiousity, did you bother to find out which blade pulled more air? new 5 or 7? Also, would this mod be comparable to swapping out the radiator? instead of going all aluminum and increasing size, just keep the existing crap colder?
