The passenger's side window has been a little slower than the driver's side since I got the car. Now it's a lot slower. Budges nary an inch, and it's all the way down. Is there any way to get the window up manually before it rains? Do I need a new motor, or just need to check some connections?

when i replaced my window switch it made the window go twice as fast.........

Does the switch include the motor? I mean, it's not going at all now. It's stuck in the "I'm hoping it doesn't rain" position.

If that is what I need, where do I get it? Checked through all the sponsoring stores and didn't see anybody selling 'em...

i got mine from malloy mazda. it doens't have anything to do with the motor. the motor could be broken or it could be the switch.....

mine go up slow too at a stop, but i think its my underdrive pulleys... cuz when i'm in motion, i don't have the problem.

Well, normal pulleys, here--and neither the switch on the passenger side, or the one on the driver's side, for the passenger window, works at all. Still a chance it could be the switch? I don't think I have the skillz to troubleshoot the thing, but is there any way to at least get the window up until I can get it fixed? A couple wires somewhere I can cross, or something I can manually turn if I take that screw on the inside of the door out?

If you are, pull the door trim off, make sure that nothing is jamming (in the tracks or motor assembly, and then test the power to the motor with a voltmeter when you depress the up switch. You could trace the wires and give the motor direct 12V to get the window up for now. (Test with a fused 12V supply first to get the wire orientation right)



Or take it to an auto electrician!

I think I'll pretend I'm electrically minded and check for jams, then hook the external starter battery up to my jumper cables and touch the other ends to any handy contacts I see briefly, until the window starts going up, then continue until it's all the way raised.

What are the chances I'll blow something up or destroy other electronic parts?

Took off the panel, disconnected this and applied 12v to the contacts therein, then tried it the other way 'round in case my guess at positive and negative was wrong. No movement. No sounds. Nada. Wrong contacts, connection broken closer to the motor, burnt out motor...?

Ow. I tried taking the panel off again and pulling up the window by hand. All I managed to do was scrape every bit of skin off the back of my knuckles.



Tried looping cords around the bottom of it and pulling from the top. I got it up about an inch, but it sprung back down as soon as I stopped pulling. Is it a good idea to take apart the door further to try to get the window back up? Will things fall out all over? Will it be hard to put back together? I already had financial catastrophe this month and can't afford a repair bill over about $25 for the thing, but taping garbage bags over my window is making me unhappy
