I am so glad you got your ETB installed------Fun isn't it?

After a while you will forget how the car acted without it...and be glad for the loss of memory.

Thanks for turning me on to David

Best of everything and stay in touch

Jeff

As to Ron's Ghetto Mod ETB. It is a very good low cost alternative to either David or Crispy's designs. However, the aluminum turnbuckle present some inherent long term wear problems (somewhat addressed by the stop nut design) that are not found in David and Crispy's ETB's.

I still have to say that if you want the most BANG for your buck talk to David. :bigthumg:

ahhhhhh. . . . i just got back from talking to david. ill be using the same ETB. it is awesome and EXTREMELY well-built. david explains it all as common sense and it really is. think about the stress that is involved with putting a skinny bracket on that fender wall. its like the people that lay on beds of nails. they load up the bed with so many nails per square "something" and with the right number they have no problems at all with laying on it. there is more pressure applied at one point than if it is spread out over a greater area. davids "wall bracket" is quite a bit larger (in both area and thickness) than any ETB that ive seen.

with the rx7store bracket you can "pre-load" using what is actually just the adjustable bar. the preloading thing has already been covered so ill just add this about that. . . by doing this you are compressing the hell out of that rubber "slab" that goes between the bracket and fender wall. . . that rubber slab isnt doing to much shock absorbing anymore is it?

the rx7store bracket has 2 small mounting bolts as opposed to 5 . . . or 6. . . not sure. . . i dont have it in front of me right now.

davids car is absolutely beautiful!!! i wish i could get pictures of it. he has kevin t. wyum original smic!!! the whole car is so well thought out its amazing. davids attention to detail is enough to keep a man up at night. . . and im sure hes had a couple of those nights with all the projects he has going. hahahahaha.

once i get my car up and running ill have a review as well, but for anybody who cant wait for another one just email me or anybody else who claims to know him and well gladly put you into contact with him.

teknics 01-11-2003 11:01 PM

can i see a closer pic of how it is attached to the side? i would like to see the part that makes this brace so much better then the others, sort of like have to see it to believe it ya know?

thanks,

kevin.

duboisr 01-11-2003 11:59 PM

The side part has the two factory threaded holes in use ,plus the 4 bolts and pollynuts that you put in to spread out the force pushing on this area. The brace is quiet because of the rubber bushings and steel sleeve in the ends of the link. Some braces use a large rubber block to do the same thing. Pick the one you want to see when you show off your motor and pick the price you want to pay . Jeff and Kmaot have pictures. Call Garfinkle for info, sorry I do not have pictures.
