unbolting the damn exhaust

can anyone help me figure out how to get the damn bolts off the exhaust pipe? im trying to instal a catback but i cant get the damn bolts off the old exhaust to cat. ive tried everything. regular wrench, socket wrench, torque wrench, kicked it with my foot, hit it with a hammer, tied a rope to the wrench and pulled it with a large workout handle i even managed to get my air wrench up in there and still no luck. just alot of pissed off neighbors can someone please help me get this damn bolt off!!

I was going to suggest the kick method, but I see you've already tried that. It was incredibly tough for us to get them off too, but what I would recommend is using stuff that's good for knocking rust off and lubing up where it can get to. (We used WD-40)

ya im just going to jack the car up again and knock on the bolt a bit with a hammer to see if i cant knock it loose. spray it down with some silicone lubricant. then hit it with the air wrench until it breaks loose.

If you think it's that bad on an FD, you should try it with an FB that's been kept outside forever. For whatever reason, we didn't break any bolts though...

i can only imagine. i dont remember it being this tough on my 2nd gen. i think i had to hit the wrench with a hammer a couple times, but it broke loose after a few good swings.

if soakin it in pb blaster overnight doesnt do the trick...

use a torch and heat em up..

yup im going for the torch option haha. because fire is COOL! and my friend is a mechanic who is going to lend me a couple tools to help with the surgery. hehehe :evil laugh:

soak the bolts in WD40 or similar every day for a week before you try and remove them. Worked for me.

heat it with the torch first then add wd-40 when it cools then try the impact gun
