Dave's car is FAR too pretty to drag race, but it would be awesome if he did. Does'nt he have to buy a whole new manifold, and downpipe?

Well not the best day I ever had.

First off I got the old T04R off no problem there. Then I started pulling the broken bumper and what not off the car. After trying to mount the new stuff I find out that the corner is damaged worse than I had originally thought. The metal there at the headlight bucket is bent down about 3/4" and back about maybe 3/4" So as one could imagine the headlight doesn't even come close to lining up properly. I was able to at least temporarily mount the bumper and fender so the car can be driven.

Looks as though once the tuning is done I will have to take it to color crafters (local body shop i trust to do good work) and let them fix it and bill the insurance company. Which kind of sucks but not really too bad. My policy just renewed and the hiked my rates anyway. So what can I say.

Next unbeknownst to Ernie the T88 that I bought off him has chipped blades on the exducer wheel. So now that will have to be shipped to turbo majestic or someone to have the wheel replaced on the back side. Another delay..

The good news. The rest of the kit is really nice looking. Ernie threw in a few nice odds and ends also. Which was nice. Plus I had a good time working up there with the PF Supercar crew for the day. All three are good guys. Jason was even kind enough to buy me lunch. Thanks guys even though I doubt they read this forum.

I did snap off a few photos right before I left.

Ray thanks again for all the advise and letting me work there in the shop. I really appreciate it. When I win the Mega Millions you guys can do my 3-rotor motor.

It all comes in the kit. So nothing else to buy. I did still have to ship this turbo out to get the exducer wheel replaced though. After that just will have to worry about slowing down and breaking the drive line.

[quote name='SENNALIVES' date='Aug 12 2005, 08:27 AM']Ouch, to bad Dave. But as long as its just cosmetic dammage its all good.

T88, thats huge, and good luck with the lagg. Sounds like your looking to drag it only anyway.

Yes it is huge. I was mostly interested in the kit and not necessarily the turbo. I am not certain that the t88 will stay on the car if it even makes it on there. I am still looking into other options. I hate to keep dragging this out but sometimes that is what it takes.

why dont you just let them get the parts to line up and take it from there?

they shouldnt charge you more then a half days labor, not worth a insurance increase for the next 40 months

im in the same boat with braking and trying not to break any parts. will try and run off the waste gate for as long as i can.

also, lag is not that bad, just gives you time to hold on for dear life....and if you can vent the waste gate to atmosphere(unless you do that already). theres no better sound in the world.
