Has anyone had any experience with titanium exhausts because HKS and Jic-Magic make titanium units for our cars and i wanted to know if anyone knew any benifits of both except for the obvious power gains. also the HKS unit isnt street legal because it has piping in place of the cat. but it has 4 inch piping all the way back. would this screw up anything with the back pressure because an engine needs a little doesnt it? Also i live in florida so i dont think the emissions for the HKS would really matter. i would appreciate any help i can get thanks again.

Rotary Extreme has one, too. The advantage is, it looks cool and it's light

Power gains? ...titanium doesn't add power but it does make an excellent watch. Maybe you're refering to the 4" SS piping of HKS? Without high boost and exhaust porting it doesn't remove the restriction (am I right?). Maybe your thinking of a gain because HKS comes with a stainless steel (not titanium) mid pipe? JIC is "all" titanium (even piping) but no mid pipe. I think you will "loose" power on a stock engine and 4" piping.

HKS Hiper Racing Exhaust for 93-95 RX-7

HKS has always provided quality items for the RX-7. HKS Titanium Racing Exhaust has a 4" tubing. The tubing extends to the downpipe attachment. This exhaust replaces the catback system and midpipe section. Exhaust hangs with racing springs from vehicle.

**** for the price of saving 30 lbs with a titanium exhaust I could take it to a body shop and have then take off 125 from the frame. But whatever

Gotham Racing has one at the shop right now just waiting for some one to buy it. Not sure on the price, but I think you could pick it up for less then what you would pay anywhere else.

Everything that you take off you have to put on some where else

so you take off from X place 20lbs and replce it at Y place at 12lbs. then you save 8lbs any ways i was just really joking you can take from the bummer area and AC that alone will save you close to 50lbs the there places around the gas tank and the tank it self. OZ 9 lbs rims and on and on and on and the you can get around the 300 lb range after your done. but that pure racing terms. a 2350 lb car is not unheard of but pricey.

remember around 150 ibs is when you can really feel any difference and removal of the cat, pre cat, and stock muffler alone saves close to 65 to 75 lbs. if you want to get the ulitame edge you can always drive naked and save the full 2.5 to 3 lbs
