That Time Of The Month Again
Well I was on my way to the Navy office. Its a warm day out but not hot. And on the way my car just flat out overheated.....BAD!!!!! It quit on me about 3 blocks from my house. I was able to get it to my driveway and when I popped the hood their was coolant all over the AST. So my guesses are the seal failed. A hose blew off. Or something else. The cap seemed to fit alright but I am going to replace it. The Hoses are all their. My engine is able to cook a steak to about Well Done. What am I supposed to do???? And what the hell is causing this?
Can I get my burger with cheese?.. J/K .. That sux man.... Hmmm.. Maybe a rebuild is in order.. Well if a hose blew off maybe you are in luck and that was the only problem, unless something got screwed when it overheated..
Joe, before you bought the car, I was praying nothing would go wrong with it. But from the start I was totaly suspicious of everything about it. Both teknics and I were talking and he also said he hoped nothing would go wrong but it was to good to be true. My advice would be to take the car to RP and have them check everything out and see if it needs a rebuilt. Good Luck bro, I meant it.
Yeah Damir......I was hoping for a car that was in sound condition but I guess I got in a big hurry. I like working on the car but geez.... I wont be driving it much when I go in the NAVY
I really want to take the engine apart this summer and rebuild it. I think it would be a great learning experiance and see if their is anything wrong while I am at it.
I flushed the system last week. I think what I did was I put too much water in it. I fluhed it again and put almost 2 gallons of new coolant in the system. I found a.....what i thought to be a hole but turned out it wasn't. Re did the hoses...AGAIN!. Car is running good now. I just freaked out when it happend and got pissed off.
My car does have similar symptoms of what daves car had with his coolant seal failure and I am really leaning hard on it. If it is then that is fine with me cause I want to do the rebuild next month or the month after.
