Sure. Don't have to do it right away, won't be a turbo and lots of people out there with older Miatas will gladly buy a complete motor, ECU and ignition from a newer Miata.

my mom has a 94 miata.... its super fun to drive. i *thought* about buying a new one to just drive around but they aren't cheap!
