On the back of the water pump housing there are 2 sensors, I believe they are both one wire connectors.

The bottom sensor of the two is snapped at the connector, I need to know what this one is for. My eyes are killing me from going through the manuals and ****, still can't find out what it is for.

It's the ECU sensor (2-wire). The other is a thermo switch for the fans. I think it puts the fans on high speed, but my wiring diagram is 19 floors below me in the car. My thermoswitch has been broken off since I bought the car. The one on the other side is the level sensor.

whether it is working or not, it adjusts the engine temp and fuel compensation. the car willl run very shitty if it is not in there. mine went out last august and i had a bitch of a time getting it form mazda. it is a 2 wire connector a grn/brn i think......you will need it, i stalled in some pretty nasty traffic and had some wild experiences while mine was out......
