We got another FD3S in the shop today. Guy said oil pressure was dropping then all of a sudden it died on him. Took it apart today. He said he only used synthetic oil and the rotors are surprisingly clean, compared to regular oil (a little scarred though). he's gonna need one new rotor; no big surprise. He also had 4 side seals fused with the rotor...it's pretty interesting looking, you can't even tell where the rotor ends and the side seal begins .

After looking at it, what happened was the oil pressure check-valve (the thingy on the front plate) seized up in there and wasn't letting in oil to the OMP. his front stationary gear was hollowed out. that was the freakiest thing i have ever seen. i'll try to get some pictures of it posted up here.

So do any of you guys continue to drive the car if your oil pressure is down? This is just another instance of people not getting their cars checked out when they should have. He actually offered the car for sale to me for $8,000 if anyone on here is interested, but you'll need a new engine.

Yeah. Pics please. Sounds nasty. What's even more nasty is how shitty the stock oil gauge gets in SOME cars... Some people might not even know of a problem such as this.

What year car is it and what kind of condition is it in? How many miles is on the rest of the car?

Yea, who would have known that no oil pressure could cause problems like that lol j/k

It's a 93 R1. Very Good condition on the interior and exterior.

Here are some pics....

Here's a pic of the rotor. it only used synthetic oil, looks almost brand new!

Here's a pic of the side seal fused with the rotor :bigok:

Here's the last pic of the front stationary gear, notice how the bearing is gone and wall is f'ed up.
