Tanabe Downpipe
#1
So I got one of these on pre-order right now. Suppose to ship the 28th but finally at least someone brought out a nice *** looking DP for the FD that is of ultra high quality. At least I'm hoping that this DP will live up to the quality of Tanabe. So I shall give a review of this DP after I receive it. Sucks though cause it will be here by the time my vacuum hose kit comes in. Just means a ton of work.
Also I wanted to ask if any of you think there will be a big issue without having and ECU or boost controller and consider I do still have the main cat. I do plan on getting an ECU soon so maybe I just wont push the 7 hard until then if any of you say there could be an issue.

Yeah I'm not thinking the performance will be any better I just like the way it looks and Tanabe is really high quality were as I've heard people having problems with the HKS downpipe. Just like any exhaust they will all perform the same in terms of HP if they are the same size.

only problem with hks is its mild steel, other than that, the welds, flanges and steel gauge are all good, i just recently installed on on a car, it was pretty easy to install cuz of the shape of the first 3-4 inches of the downpipe

This is only a major problem if you drive in an area that snows. I have been driving on CA roads for over a year with mine -- no problems with rust.

Nope the place I ordered from had some miscommunication on the release date for the DP. So I just cancelled my order. Will still be waiting for this one probably though since I'm not in no hurry to spend money just yet.
