I hear this rattling type of noise from under my car / trans area. at first i thought it was because of low gear oil but thats filled to the right level now. It continues to make the noise at idle and im not fully sure where its coming from . I doubt its my engine but im really not sure. anyone haev any tips ?

i dont think its a heat shield because my clutch isnt bled and i think is the throw out bearing rattling. Anyone concur on this idea ?

My first thought was heat sheilding too. Had the same problem, worst at idle. Isn't there some aluminum heat sheilding for the DP on the firewall. (just above the bell-housing)

if you have a bad throwout bearing it will ussually take the noise away when you press in on the clutch pedal, or will change the tone at least.

I have to agree, its a heat shield possibly, found the same noise on a customers car the other day
