okay get this ****....unplugged, and ran test and ran a solid 7psi till 4500rpm then BAM right back down to 3 psi. so somwhere i didn't look there is a hose off? or is one of the solenoids just focked?

edit: okay well i already searched around the entire engine for anything off and like i said there is no sound of pressure being release to the atmosphere so i'm betting on focked accuator.

the more i drive it the more i feel like the turbo is being "strangled" does that make sense? i'm betting that since i'm running fine on the primary that the issue is with the charge control actuator. good guess?

make sure the connectors are plugged properly..

there should be a marking on one of the solenoids..wastegate if i recall

it should correspond with the appropriate marked connector..

make sure these arent switched...

id check the preturbo..turbo and charge solenoids..

one of em is under the uim ... rats nest

yeah the infamous white dots....they lined up conneted fine. i think it should probably be wise to just replace all three to be safe...how much that probably gonna run?

would replacing the wastegate actuator be necessary if i'm running 9psi on primary?

only if its the cause..

lemme stress checkin the solenoid operations first..

if your confident the issue is not hose related..

check the aluminum valve that runs to the vaccum chamber as well..

for both operation and flow direction..

assumption is that youve already done the silicone-tie hose job..

if not..this is a good time..

yeah i was thinking the same thing.. ...i was hoping on making it till winter first. so i'm guessing the best way to do that is one at a time right? i'll look for a write up i know there is one on here. so the aluminum valve that runs to the vaccum chamber....i havn't heard of this yet....is it something inline with the vaccum line.

okay well i did a little test for the charge control solenoid, and it worked fine. removed the vac line for the charge relief valve and got suction which i assume means the vaccum chamber is funtioning correctly. now when i started the car the valve closed and when revved and held above 4500 it opens. this of course makes me assume that the charge control solenoid is functioning.... .....so onto the precontrol and the wastegate solenoid.

Thumbs down

1. Disconnect two vacuum lines going to charge control actuator and plug them off (a bolt or golf tee)

2. Safety wire the charge control flapper open (with no hoses connected, it is in the open position)

3. Tee charge relief into the blow off valve's control line - i.e. they are both connected to a nipple on the intake manifold

4. Disconnect the lines going down to turbo control (under pressure tank and crossover pipe, next to the WG/PC lines) and cap them off. Since you've used wire to hold the TC valve open, you don't need the pressure/vac for the actuators

5. Disconnect the precontrol actuator vent line that goes to the solenoid -- this is so that you constantly vent the solenoid and the actuator arm doesn't move. You could also leave the clip on the PC actuator, and cap off the precontrol actuator vent.

#2 i assume this mean safety wire towards the back of the car. correct?

#4 i have no idea what these lines are a pic would be extremely helpful

#5 i think is done, but i'm not sure. which line is this?

nevermind figured it out on my own...non-sequential works great...yay..lag in first but full boost is nasty...hehehehe

I pretty much had this same problem, only I waited until it got even worse. I got 7 psi on primary, 0 psi at transition @4500, then 2-3 psi for secondaries. Had 99,000 miles on car. Checked vacuum lines, actuator connections, heated solenoid valves in ovenand checked them for heat failure, and anything else I could try.....twice. Yes, your car may be struggling to get boost. Mine was. I replaced the pre-cat with a downpipe. Got 10-5-10 pattern. replaced cat, and got 10-8-10. If your exhaust flow is restricted, it makes sense that the turbos can't spin as fast as they need to to provide sufficient boost. Hind sight is 20/20. What an enourmous difference it made. Hope this helps.
