Hey guys, I have tried searching for a good "How To" but I can't seem to find one. I'd like to know what's involved with changing out to a good aftermarket steering wheel and any ideas you might have on retaining the functionality of cruise control.

THANKS!

That was on a R1 model, so no cruise.

perhaps take the box of buttons and mount it on the dash somwhere. I dont see it being too complicated.

By the way... I've heard that the Mazdaspeed hub adapter is no longer available. I have a momo wheel on my '93 Miata that uses a readily available hub adapter that is a copy of the mazdaspeed unit. I'm going to try to see if it fits tomorrow.

Is no one else interested in getting rid of the nasty stock wheel? The explosive pillow in the middle of the stock wheel scares the crap out of me. I feel like a 10 year old airbag may be more of a menice than a help.

Just a thought...

i have a momo wheel they should still sell hubs (momo anyways)

the wiring going out the back of the steering wheel is not like regular wire its like a magnetic strip or somthing (I think) but you might not be able to save CC.

to remove the steering wheel just disconect the battery and pull the airbag main fuse (just to be safe) then take the bolts out from the back of the wheel

the air bag needs electric to work no power no work

heres mine i can give more info if you need more first hand knowledge
