well, i am having problems getting my third gen started. When i turn the key it tries to crank and turn over, but it just won't start. You can smell a little bit of gas when turning the key. If I push start the car, it will run fine. I have no idea what this could be. Any suggestions?

Thanks

It sounds like it's flooded. This page is for 2nd gen's, but the main idea still applies:

Have you tried holding the accelerator pedal down to the floor when you start it?

how many miles on the car? It could be a sign of low compression

It's possible that you have some sort of loose connection, but it's hard to tell. No check engine light?
