I need to figure out where the speed sensor is and what it looks like. It controls the speedometer. I have looked in the service manual on "lightning in a world of thunder" and i cannot find it. Anyone have any knowledge about this subject?

its in the tranny. it lives in the back, its round and held in with a 10mm bolt. it has a 2 wire connector. it generates ac voltage, and it goes directly the the speedo, so you can tap into the wires and look at the a/c voltage. i've never seen the sensor go bad

I'm not sure if that is it but i cannot imagine what else would cause my speedo, odometer, and tripmeter to quit. I am getting the 6 engine code which says to check the speed sensor. Hopefully I can figure it out. Thanks for all the help
