I wanted to know how often you should replace spark plug wires in a 3rd generation Rx-7. Also what are the best ones to use with an FD?

I would think you could use new ones every 5 to 10 years or so. Naturally sooner if you can see any obvious damage, or if you suspect them.

I never replaced the OE wires on my 626. Ran great for 14 years. Wires looked fine. Car ran fine.

I can't imagine you could go wrong with the stock replacements from Mazda. I have been happy with the R100's from Magnecore on my TII.

we like the stock yazaki wires that came with the car, they are available new, you just have to order em individually.

the ngk wires are good too, they fit right and work well.

most of the other wire sets have something wrong with em, like the jacobs, uses good wire, but the boots suck so much the wires are constantly falling off

Stock or NGK leads work best with stock plugs. I use grounded hotwires but the stock plugs dont work with them so i use ngk R6725-105 plugs.

Has anyone heard if ULTRA ignition wires work well?

I am running the racing beat wires. I think they were $100. I just figured every thing else on the car cost an arm and a leg why not? I can feel a little better idle than the stockers. I try to change them once a year.

What type of plugs are you using with the ultra wires?
