I had to take off my upper manifold today because I am trying to diagnose a fuel leak. How realisitic is it for me to do the solenoid and turbo simplification mod right now? God I HATE all those stupid vacuum lines. No I mean I REALLY hate them https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/angry.png

turbo simplification

Do you mean for none sequential??? theres a topic for that.

Danno, I cant read everything at once.

helihanson this place has few members that have a good working knowledge on the Fd.

So be patient and we will try to help, if we can when we read your posts.

The turbo simplification is pretty straight forward.

The benefits are minimal, but if you do want to decrease the number of hoses then it may suit you.

You are still left with alot of hoses though.

Wade did a pretty good write up on it, It's available on Robinettes site.

You may or maynot have known that but here is the link anyway..

No the simplification of the sequential setup is a different procedure.

YES NOW IS THE BEST TIME. DO NOT PUT IT OFF, you might change your mind. it is not hard at all, it just takes some getting used to looking at all those lines and **** and learning which ones you will need. wait, there are only about 5 lines that you will end up with.....those pesky little hoses will be out of your hair soon....

repost if you decide....

Im not afraid of the work just was kinda hopin to be able to drive down to the hooters meet on the 23rd. Problems arise when your garage is filled and you dont have lots of time off for everything. Ohh well maybe I will just see if i cant still prove myself wrong and get the old beast to the event. Thanks for the replies. Fd3boost I am well aware of the site but I guess sometimes its just better to have reassurance before you just jump head first into something. :bigthumg:

Do it. I did the block off plates for everything at the same time. If you move all the solenoids onto the rail, just keep track of which plug goes back with which solenoid. You can get rid of half the solenoids (emissions) right away. I kept all the turbo related ones, just made sure they hooked up where they were supposed to. I studied the workshop manual a lot before I did this though. All for nothing, now, cause I no longer have any Mazda solenoids https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

diagnosing the fuel in itself can prove to be a daunting task...

so unless youve already done the SH ziptie while your there.. do so

understanding the sequential setup will help you get over the hatred...

its complexity imho is actually quite kewl..

id wait till theres a need for simplification...like emissions removal...

Tyson thanks! I think im gonna go youre route and just get rid of as much stuff as possible. I think thats one of the biggest feats of owning a stock car. You have to remov all the stuff thats not needed in order to REALY work on the car and have fun tuning it. Thanks again to you all I REALLy appreciate everyones input. Hmmm now for the hard part.....decidig on what color vacuum line to get :bigok:
