it won't go into ANY gear. i purchased it with the seller saying it worked fine when removed..... he said he thinks the rods are out of alignment. i am proceeding to make him give me my money back since he sold me a broken trans and i have been playing with it for 2 months and still it doesn't go in gear! anyway. any other idea's ?

sometimes they just have being sitting too long, little rusty inside. Start the car and try to jam it into gear REALLY REALLY hard. It will eventually work.
This is how I got two of my JDM tranny to work, after they have being removed from the original car for over a year.
If that still dont work, may be you have a very poor condition transimission, where the shifter select, all bearings, are all either broken or rusted, sized. Might want to just take it to a transmission specialist and have it looked at.
