Showa Suspension Oem?
#1
Does anyone know who supplied Mazda with their suspension? I bought my 2002 FD as stock but have since found that it has Showa adjustable suspension. Besides the Bilstein shocks which were available on the RZ and Spirit Rs did adjustable suspension come as standard on any of the others?
I need to know as this is stopping me from having my car road registered here in New Zealand. To comply my car it must have stock suspension but I do not know if this is stock and Mazda NZ dont know either.
I have tryed calling Mazda Japan today with no luck. Any of you guys in Japan know?
Thanks for any help.
Clint.

Thanks for the replies, unfortunately my FD is not a Bathurst R so that rules that possibility out. It's looking more like they were added later. Oh well.
By the way anyone heard of Showa? Are they crap or ok?
Tryed checking out their site but doesn't really give much info.

Even on the bathurst, Spirit R and any kind of RX7 Adjustable height was not available.
Ride adjust might be on the Bilsteins, but that was only on select versions
I have all the parts books and option booklets from 93-02 at JT, so I can scan it if you like later.
To tell you the truth BATTBOY--In Japan we have about 100 showas that I know of. Its a last name, so several companies have similiar names. If you could get me a pic I could help more.
Is showa actually stamped into the sus or just a sticker?
