rolling the fenders should work fine.. i did that with my 510 when i had some meat in the back and only had rubbing issues when i had three people in the back, before rolling i had issues going over bumps faster then 10mph its really not that hard, and serves its purpose well.. btw nice lookin tire's

I don't think rolling the fender is going to do the trick.





What size are those tires anyway? It looks like they are plenty wide for that wheel, I would get skinnier tires and then check if you'll need to roll the fender anyway.

They are 275 40 17.



I think the wheels were designed for a 265 or 255..



You think I should try a 265? I don't know how much skinnier that'll be.. I think they'll do a little rubbing regardless - I'd just like to minimize how much I roll.. I guess I could be safe and just get the 255s.. They'll still look great - maybe better?

 

Well by looking at Yokohamas specs a 255/40/17 would move the tire about 1/2" lower and 1/4" in for more clearance in either direction. Plus it's closer to the stock tire height.



I think you'll notice the shorter sidewall on the 255 more than you'll notice the change in width.

I'm no expert, but judging from your "Naked Mudguard Missing" rear shot, it looks like, because of the 275 rubber, your sidewalls bow OUT a bit. Having 265 or 255 will make them more perfectly straight, which, to me, looks more badass than bubbling out or caving in (like some dorifto kid's setup).



Combine a super-flat, stiff, medium sized (yours is great, 2-3", not rubber band and not huge) sidewall with awesome V or lack thereof of tread marks, and you have a sweet looking tire.



Oh, and it may perform good too, or something....

 

Yeah, if your sidewalls are pointed out like that then the tire's sidewall won't have as much deflection resistance. When you go around a corner or hit a bump the sidewall will give and flex and create unstable conditions. Sometimes it's not about trying to get the most rubber possible.. It's about properly sizing to match the wheel and car. While those tires aren't too oversized, I think a 265 would be better, but you may still need to roll the fenders.
