...broke!

jeez..it didnt even require a great deal of torque to do it...

soaked it in PB blaster...stud extractor tool from Sears is only good for studs greater than .25 in

...last resort was vice grips ...no luck ..just stripped it ..

anyone have any ideas ?

2 ideas

1 get a torch and heat the metal around the stud so it expands a bit, then use the visegrips to get the stud out.

2 borrow a welder and spot weld a nut onto the stud then take it out.

Theese are the ways we get all types of broken studs out of cars at work. 1 of the 2 allways work

decided to try once again with the vice grip prior to torching it...

it sheared off once again but noticed a movement upon shear..marked it before with nail polish so i could see any progress much easier...

gripped yet again of what was left of the stud and sure enough...there was movement...
